Mine stopped working after the update aswell. I removed all the drivers, went to bios and changed it from ECP + EPP to Normal mode and it installed a driver after start. Then i tried printing a test page and it worked.

My father insisted on turning it back to previous setting in bios, so i did and now it doesnt even works in normal mode anymore.

I have Dell desktop with the Laserjet 1100 connected to the parallel port and I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1511. I set the BIOS to ECP with no DMA assignment (it was originally set to PS/2. Then in Win 10, in Device Manager, under Ports, go to the properties of the ECP Printer Port (LPT1). Go to the Port Settings tab. I selected Use any interrupt assigned to the port and I checked Enable legacy Plug and Play detection. Printing works now. As of this writing, I do not know if you really need to check Enable legacy Plug and Play detection to make things work, but I'm pretty sure the other option is what fixed the problem. Hope this helps anyone with a similar setup.

I really thought that this was going to be the answer, and it is partially. I set my parallel port BIOS to ECP but was unable to select no DMA, so I left it as DMA3. It was originally set to Normal.

What I have found that it does not matter what Device Manager/Ports/ECP Printer Port settings I use, as long as I change them before printing. If it was set after restart to 'Try not to use an interrupt', I switch to one of the other settings, and so on. For now, I just have to remember to toggle the setting after a restart and I am printing again. 'Enable Legacy Plug and Play detection' is checked, but it does not seem to be a factor.

I hope this helps anyone else and leads to a longer term solution.

After a short testing I found out that removing the ECP port and rescan hardware changes fix the problem until next restart.
The final solution is to allow ECP Port to use any IRQ in Device Manager - ECP Port settings. So thumbs up to user MakabeliRises, one of his tries was successful.
