Your EOS 6D has more cool features than there are Smiths in the New York phone book. Well almost. Your EOS 6D is a Wi-Fi device. When you enable Wi-Fi with your EOS 6D, you can connect to an existing Wi-Fi network, transfer images to another EOS 6D, control your camera wirelessly with the EOS Utility, upload images to Canon Gateway, and more. To enable wireless on your EOS 6D:
Press the Menu button.
The last-used menu displays.
Use the Multi-controller to navigate to the Camera Settings 3 tab.
Use the Multi-controller or the Quick Control dial to highlight Wi-Fi, and then press Set.
The Wi-Fi options are displayed.
Use the Multi-controller or Quick Control dial to highlight Enable, and then press Set.
You’re ready to fly the friendly skies with Wi-Fi.

You do use more of the camera battery when you enable Wi-Fi. Therefore, you should disable the Wi-Fi feature when you’re not using it.
To use your camera Wi-Fi with other devices, you must give the camera a nickname. In essence, the nickname you give the camera is the name of the Wi-Fi hub emanating from the camera. To give your camera a nickname:

Use the Multi-controller to navigate to the Camera Settings 3 tab.
Use the Multi-controller or the Quick Control dial to highlight Wi-Fi Functions and press Set.
When you choose this command for the first time, your only option is to register a nickname for the camera.
Use the Multi-controller or the Quick Control dial to highlight OK, and then press Set.
The Register Nickname menu appears . You can create a nickname with up to 16 characters.
Press the Quick Control button to place the cursor in the bottom half of the dialog box — you know, the place with the letters and numbers.
Canon calls this a Virtual Keyboard.
Use the Quick Control dial to navigate to the desired number or letter, and then press Set.
The number or letter appears in the upper part of the dialog box.
Continue in this manner until you’ve spelled out the nickname.
Your author’s nickname for his camera will be displayed.
Press Menu when you’ve finished entering the nickname for your camera.
A dialog box appears, asking you to confirm the nickname.
Use the Multi-controller or the Quick Control dial to highlight OK, and then press Set.
Your camera nickname is now registered.
As you can see, there are quite a few functions you can enable. Unfortunately, many of them are particular to your home network, and you’ll need to know the username and password to connect and use these functions. But not to worry, intrepid photographer/geek. After you select a Wi-Fi function, press Info to get some help setting up the camera with the function.
